Terms of Use

Who we are: StackCheck (stackcheck.co.uk) is operated by Robert Brunt, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. Contact: hello@stackcheck.co.uk.
1. What StackCheck is (and isn't)
StackCheck is a calculation tool for screening UK property deals. It performs arithmetic on figures you enter, using published rates and common industry rules of thumb. It is not financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, or a personal recommendation of any kind, and nothing on this site should be treated as such. StackCheck is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Before making any property, mortgage, tax, or investment decision, verify the figures independently (including SDLT with HMRC) and take advice from appropriately qualified professionals.
2. Accuracy
We work hard to keep rates, thresholds, and methodology current and correct, but tax rates and lending rules change, and every calculation depends on the assumptions you enter. The output can only ever be as good as those inputs. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any output, and you use the results at your own risk.
3. Free service
The core analyser is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the free service at any time.
4. StackCheck Pro
Pro is a paid licence unlocking additional features. Where Pro is offered:
- Prices are displayed at the point of purchase; payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time and keep access until the end of the paid period.
- As a consumer buying digital content, you have a 14-day cancellation right. If you're unhappy in the first 14 days, email us and we'll refund you in full.
- Licence keys are personal to you and may not be shared, resold, or published.
5. Acceptable use
Don't attempt to disrupt the service, probe or bypass its security, scrape it at abusive volumes, or use it for anything unlawful. We may block access that breaches these terms.
6. Intellectual property
The StackCheck name, design, and content are owned by the operator. Your deal data is yours: it stays in your browser and any files you export.
7. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including for fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence). Subject to that: we are not liable for losses arising from property, investment, or financial decisions made using the site; for indirect or consequential loss; or for loss of profit. Our total liability to you in respect of the paid service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
8. Privacy
How we handle personal data is described in our privacy policy.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time; the "last updated" date shows the current version. Material changes to paid terms will be notified to Pro subscribers by email before they take effect.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — though if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections and courts there.
